Knights of Columbus Meeting
The next Knights of Columbus meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1, 2022. We will meet at 6:00pm. The meeting will take place downstairs, in the church hall.
Kights in Action: Donations from the Knights — The Knights of Columbus presented checks in February to the following organizations: · $1,800 to the Elizabethton City School System. The funds will be used to purchase noise reduction headphones ($800) for T.A. Duggar Junior High’s special education class and to assist in purchasing a banner printer ($1,000) for the special education program at Elizabethton High School. · $700 to Assistance Resource Ministries (ARM) as part in the Knight’s Food for Family Program. The money, which was collected during the St. Elizabeth Advent Food Drive, will be used to feed the needy in Elizabethton and Carter County. (See pictures below)
Congratulations! — Congratulations to Jimmy and Lisa Townsend who were named the Knights of Columbus Family of the Month for Tennessee for December 2021. Each month the national Knights office selects families from each jurisdiction across the United States and Canada for this honor. The local Knights council selected the Townsends as their December Family of the Month based on the Townsends’ dedication to the Knights’ primary principle of charity. They were in charge of the local council’s effort to provide Christmas for a family in need.
A Big Thank You —The Knights of Columbus want to thank you for your generous donations to the Pregnancy Help Center. Donations included over 2,000 diapers and baby wipes, various clothing, baby blankets, baby bottles, pacifiers and books. In addition, monetary donations of $575 were collected. Your donations were greatly appreciated.

Essay Honors — Two students from St. Elizabeth have placed in the statewide Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest. Daniel Grubb won first place for 11th graders in the state and will now compete against other state winners. Allison Jordan is the runner up for 10th graders in Tennessee.
Welcome - We want to welcome George Gehring, our newest member of Council 10743 of the Knights of Columbus.
Thank you St. Elizabeth parishioners for your generous donations to the Lenten food collection. Your Knights of Columbus recently delivered 1,002 pounds of food and a check for $930 to ARM (Assistance Resources Ministeries). Thank you and God bless you!
Steve McKinney was recognized as Knight of the Month for December. Also ,Jimmy and Lisa Townsend and Donna Townsend were recognized as the Family of the Month for December.

At the November meeting, District Deputy, Keith Estevens (far right), presents the Columbian and Founder's Awards for the 2019-2020 fraternal year to St. Elizabeth Council 10743. Accepting the plaque are Bob Gamache, Past Grand Knight (center) and David Olson, Grand Knight. These awards are presented for achievements in programs and insurance.
Beatification of Fr. Michael J. McGivney: The Knights of Columbus are anxiously awaiting October 31st for beatification of their founder, Fr. Michael J. McGivney.
