Knights of Columbus

Advent Events: The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a variety of Advent events. December 3rd at 3pm there will be an Advent Holy Hour. All parishioners are invited.

There will be A Silver Rose Ceremony before the noon Mass on December 13th. The Silver Rose Program promotes prayer for respect life, for the spiritual ion, including the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and for the advancement of the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Advent Collection Drives: Food drive for Assistance and Resource Ministries (ARM) will begin first weekend of Advent, December 2nd/3rd. Non-perishable foods only, please. Catholic Charity drive, collecting gently used or new baby winter clothes, sizes newborn to 12 months, is ongoing and will continue throughout the weeks of Advent. Collection boxes for the drives will be outside the Knights of Columbus room door, on the ground floor of the education building.

Funds for Intellectually Challenged: The Knights of Columbus are distributing funds from their annual drives at the parish and Walmart to support the intellectually challenged. Disbursements include: $1,875 to the Elizabethton City Schools special education department on August 25th. The money will buy needed classroom equipment for several city schools. $1,800 to the Carter County schools’ special education department next week for use at Hampton High School. The Knights thank all who contributed to the fund drive, making these donations possible.

Knight of the Year is Bob Gamache and Family of the month is Jimmy and Lisa Townsend.

Honors for July:  The Knights of Columbus honors for July include Nick and Vicki Johnson as family of the month and JJ Regan as Knights of the month.

Knights of Columbus Meeting
The next Knights of Columbus meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, 2023.  We will meet at 6:00pm.  The meeting will take place downstairs, in the church.
